Loner

The waiting was again pure torture. I painfully remembered the last time I had waited and Hope had been brought back broken and maltreated. After an apparent eternity, I finally heard footsteps in the hallway. I interrupted my restless circling and hurried to the bars. It was only the guards. There was no sign of Hope. Worry and desperation tortured me, and I roared in anger.

"Back against the wall!" yelled one of the four guards.

They had their weapons pointed at me while one unlocked the door to our cell. I emitted an aggressive growl.

"Where is she?" I asked angrily.

"She is still with Doctor Ivanowitsch. If you want her to return to you unharmed, stand up against the wall and put your hands in the cuffs," said the guard, whom the others called Nuts.

Reluctantly, I stepped back and stood against the wall as requested. I placed my hands in the cuffs, which were embedded in the wall and closed automatically. Again I was restricted, unable to defend myself. How I hated this. But they had Hope as leverage. If I disobeyed, they would hurt her again. I would never forget what they had done to her last time. Just the thought of it kept my anger burning until I could think of nothing else but what I would do to the guards and the scientists if I had the chance. Again, a wild growl rose in my throat.

The barred door opened with a loud buzzing and the guards entered my cell. They lined up to the right and left of the door, two on each side. Then more footsteps sounded. Two nurses pushed a hospital bed through the corridor. Hope lay in the bed. I threw myself against my handcuffs, even though I knew it wouldn't help.

Hope was pushed into the cell. Two of the guards lifted her onto our bed. I wanted to see her, to convince myself that she was okay, but the damn handcuffs wouldn't open until a few minutes after the cell was securely locked. I stood there helplessly, roaring out my anger and desperation.

"Quiet, Alien Bastard!" a guard barked.

I gave him a murderous look and exposed my long fangs. One day I would rip his throat out with them. I would wallow in his blood.

The nurses disappeared with the bed and the guards also left the cell. All but one. It was Dimitri S., as it was written on his nametag, but his friends called him Rape. I knew that he bore that name for a reason. He had done unspeakable things to Hope. Rape built himself up in front of me and our eyes met. His challenging, full of scorn. Mine with a deadly promise!

"Your little girl is such a good fuck," he taunted with a wicked grin on his fleshy lips. "You really should try her out. I've broken her in well for you."

I let out a deep growl and flashed my fangs.

"One day..." I promised coldly. "I will kill you. – And I will take my time doing it.
